This was my first commission for a Role Playing Game. It differed greatly from my standard fare, so I researched other games, like Pokemon, Fate Grand Order, and other games provided by my client.
The face was placed on the left of the text box, while the top right corner holds a menu button. Once it’s clicked, multiple options are displayed. For the combat scenes, I wanted a simple, traditional RPG system. The players have three classic options: (Fight, Item, and Run). The players’ allies and HP bar appears on the left side of the screen.
Excepting the textbox and combat system, the GUI design process was fairly simple. Load/ Save game and Options proved easy enough. The main point was creating easy navigation through an open layout.
